welcome to my little digital commonplace book; i'm going to use this piece of my site as a means of archiving really anything i find cool on the internet (blog posts, videos, etc.). sorry for the jankiness of this page, i'm coding in between being a full time student and part time employee and have a hard time finding the time.

i picked up the practice of keeping a commonplace book in my freshman year of university, though i have been on and off keeping books throughout my entire life. my memory isn't what i'd like it to be due to chronic migraine, sleep issues, complex ptsd, and severe depression, so writing things out can often help me keep track of pieces of my life that i wouldn't otherwise remember. i struggle with dissociation and losing time, so writing things out helps sometimes- it at least tells me what i was feeling/doing/whatever at a given time, which is fine.

i'll make an actual index soon! and put the articles and resources i'm enjoying right now in here too (with my commentary? maybe? idk.)

here's a list of my interests (what to expect a lot of writing about lol):
fear and hunger - downloaded the first game in april of 2024 and have been in intense special interest hell ever since. my sibling and i (mainly them) played both games several times over the summer, so its super special to me.
the horror genre as a whole - my favourite movies are hereditary, the ritual, hellraiser [all iterations, the original is so campy and fun UWGH], midsommar, IT (the 2017 and 2019 films and the original book!) longlegs [i know it was bad but it was so fun to see in theatres so i don't care], the scream series, and the original dracula. i'm currently watching iwtv because i love vampires sooo much lol.
my favourite tv shows are: house md, breaking bad & better call saul, barry, criminal minds, and law and order svu - i'm also a massive fan of dungeon meshi and mob psycho 100 (mp100 is genuinely one of my favourite shows of all time)

i'm also just generally a reader; i try to read at least 35 books per year, though the number isn't too important to me as long as i'm actively engaging in something and keeping my attention span alive i'm also a big advocate for media literacy and literary analysis, and actually really like thinking deeper into the media i consume, so expect a lot of analysis and my own thoughts on things -- i am a d1 yapper

i love medicine with my whole heart- it's my longest-term special interest and i genuinely can never see myself ever tiring of it. i want to become a genetic counselor and give answers to people who otherwise would not.
i'm going to try to archive articles/research papers i find here too as a means of saving them and keeping them on hand. i'm particularly interested in biomedical engineering, neurodegenerative disease/degenerative disease as a whole, and genetics.

thanks for stopping by :)

      steps:
    • get sausage, chop it up into desired size pieces.
    • place pan on burner and turn it onto medium high heat. add a little bit of olive oil. once heated, add sausage and brown on both sides.
    • microwave a microwaveable bag of peas - ensure that it's right side up. cook according to instructions on the bag.
    • (optional) grab a drink of choice :)
    • while the sausage is cooking, boil a pot of salted water on the stove. once at a rolling boil, add pasta noodles of your choosing. boil until desired softness.
    • strain noodles. add noodles and peas to pan of sausage.
    • if any of the components need to be reheated, put it back on a burner on medium heat and add a bit more olive oil to it.
    • add desired seasonings and enjoy :)
      • total cost (USD, using references from Trader Joe's): $7.37 ($1.79 - peas; $1.29 - pasta noodles (farfelle is my personal choice); $4.29 (sausage))
